Kansas City Photographer : Portraits : Tiffany

This portrait session with Tiffany at the Union Station in Kansas City, MO brought back to me the fun of shooting at this historic site.  There is so much personality in the architecture and design, which made it easy to find the right spot to shoot each image.  There is just something about the atmosphere there.  I think it is one of those feelings that you have to experience for yourself to understand.
It was a fun experience to use a variety of lighting as well.  Enjoy!

Kansas City Photographer : Event : Prairie Village Jazz Festival 2010

As a photographer for the city of Prairie Village, I have the awesome priviledge of attending some of the best local events around the KC metro area.  There are so many wonderful people, vendors, and food when it comes to the midwest.  The Jazz Festival featured many great local musical artists who are known nationwide.  It was a great time had by all who attended.

Kansas City Photographer : Places : The Liberty Memorial : Kansas City, MO

There is no other World War I museum in the United States like the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO.  The architecture was designed by the same person who designed the Holocaust museum in Germany.  The funds to build the memorial were gathered by civil leaders in the KC metro area.  It is quite a landmark that stands alone to show the honor and respect that many citizens give to those who have fought and died for this country.  There is so much history here in the midwest.  The two last images are views from on top of the Liberty Memorial looking down over Kansas City.  Enjoy!

Kansas City Photographer : Fine Art Still Life : "What A View"

While on a date night celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary, I caught these images of a hot air balloon.  The sky was beautiful that evening.  Seeing it made me wonder about the view that the passengers had high up in the sky.  I'm sure it was nothing short of wonderful.  I really like how the orange of the hot air balloon contrasted so well with the blue of the sky.  Enjoy!

Kansas City Photographer : Event : Scott Kelby's 2010 Worldwide Photowalk

Scott Kelby's 2010 Worldwide Photowalk consists of groups from different cities around the nation.  This year it was held in the West Bottoms in KC, MO.  This part of the city was damaged by flooding in the 1950's, I think.  There are some pretty old buildings and the railroad tracks are still running through here.  There were some 30 or so photographers that attended.  It was a great time of shooting and sharing.  With the few shots that I took, here are five that depict this area the best.  Enjoy!

Kansas City Photographer : Performing Artist : Anna

Anna's first dance recital would not be complete without a photo session.
She was so excited to wear her kitty cat costume!  We had a lot of fun with her session.
We did it before the recital so that she could practice getting ready for the show.
There are more images to come of the dance recital.  Enjoy!

Kansas City Photographer : Wedding : Cyndie & Neal : Memphis, TN

My best friend's wedding gave me a great reason to travel to Memphis, Tennessee.
So, I'm not sure how many other people could actually graduate from a Master's education teaching program and get married in the same weekend...but Cyndie did!!!  This is what I love about my best friend.  She is so versatile even under pressure, and knows how to have a great time even when no one is looking!!!  I was so excited when she told me that she was engaged.  And when she told me her plan, I thought that only she would be able to pull it off.  She did it, with the help of her amazing family and friends.  Though there were times when Neal was sweating bullets, thankfully it was more due to the humidity than being nervous.  In May, the weather is surprisingly hot, even compared to Kansas City.  But that didn't affect the celebration.  I admit that I cried at the reception...they were a mix of happy tears and allergy tears.  Its a funny thing because it seems that every time Cyndie and I visit each other, one of us gets allergies.  I hope that means we're not allergic to each other!?!! LOL

It was a beautiful wedding and reception.  I am so glad I have the honor of being your best friend and for being there on your big day.  Congratulations Cyndie and Neal!
